SHE MOVES WITH THE SEASONS: WINTER

SHE RESTED

SIX EVENINGS OF MOVEMENT, REST & SEASONAL EXPLORATION.

She Rested is a six week seasonal immersion for women to explore the wisdom of winter, through somatic movement, rest, conversation and seasonal and philosophical enquiry.

What if January wasn't about starting again?

The new year arrives with its familiar demands. New intentions. New habits. New goals. A new and improved version of ourselves. But outside, the earth is doing something rather different. Seeds lie beneath the soil. Trees stand bare. Much of the natural world is resting, gestating, waiting.

What might happen if we listened?

What if there's something valuable in staying with winter a little longer?

This winter, I'm inviting you to resist that rush. To spend a little longer exploring the wisdom of darkness, the nourishment of rest and all that continues beneath the surface.

Across six Monday evenings, we'll explore winter through somatic movement, yoga, rest and conversation. We'll spend time with the soil, the bones, gravity and the quieter rhythms of the natural world, gradually sensing the subtle stirrings of life as we move towards the first light of spring.

This is your space to pause, feel, wonder and reconnect with the rhythms we've been taught to overlook.

No resolutions. No reinvention. No pressure to bloom.

Just a little time to be human, in the middle of winter.

And perhaps, to notice what begins to stir when we're given the time and space to rest.

THE WORLD SAYS BEGIN AGAIN.

WINTER WHISPERS NOT YET.

We live in a culture that asks us to move in straight lines. More. Faster. Better. Keep going. Keep growing. But winter offers another possibility. A season of darkness, dormancy, descent and deep rest. A reminder that life doesn't always move forwards, that growth isn't always visible, and that doing less isn't an interruption to growth, it is part of the cycle itself.

Beneath the surface, the soil is resting, seeds are gestating and life continues in ways we cannot always see. Perhaps we have something to learn from this quieter kind of becoming.

Together, we'll explore what becomes possible when we stop pushing ourselves forwards and begin paying attention to the rhythms we are already part of.

WINTER: A SEASON THAT ASKS

What if we didn't rush to begin again?

What does it mean to rest, rather than simply stop?

What might we discover when we allow ourselves to be supported?

What begins to stir when we give ourselves time?

We'll explore these questions through the body - moving, sensing, resting, talking, listening and noticing. Turning our attention towards the bones, gravity and the ground beneath us, we'll explore what it means to be held, to do less and to trust the quieter processes of change.

And perhaps, in the process, begin to loosen our relationship with the myth of endless growth.

“REST is the conversation between what we love to do and how we love to be.”

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Over six sessions, we'll gather as a group of women to explore the turning of the season.

Each 90-minute session will weave together:

MOVEMENT
Somatic and embodied practices to explore rather than perfect. Think: gentle, floor-based movement, exploring the quality of the bones.

REST
Space to pause, receive and notice what happens when we stop doing.

CONVERSATION & JOURNALLING
Time to share, listen and explore the themes together.

SEASONAL & PHILOSOPHICAL ENQUIRY
Looking to the natural world and exploring some non-dual yogic philosophy for an alternative way of understanding how life moves.

TEA, TIME & SPACE TO PAUSE
Because there should always be tea & not everything needs to be rushed, filled or achieved

You will also be offered:

ONGOING CONNECTION TO THE WIDER SHE MOVES WITH THE SEASONS COMMUNITY.
Including first access to future seasonal gatherings, retreats and discount to other events whilst you are a member.

WHO THIS IS FOR

She Rested is for you if you're curious about what might happen when you stop pushing forwards and give yourself permission to rest.

Perhaps you're:

  • Feeling tired of the pressure to keep going, keep growing and constantly work towards a better version of yourself

  • Craving some space to slow down, do less and step away from the demands of everyday life

  • Curious about exploring yourself through movement, sensation, reflection and conversation, rather than trying to think your way through everything

  • Drawn to the wisdom of seasonal cycles and what they might teach us about rest, growth and an alternative way of living in the world

  • Wondering what it might mean to feel supported, rather than always having to hold everything together

  • In a quieter or more uncertain phase of life, and wanting space to be with what's unfolding without rushing towards an answer

  • Interested in exploring the relationship between your body, the natural world and the rhythms we've been taught to overlook

  • Simply craving a little more time, spaciousness and connection in the middle of winter

You don't need to be experienced in yoga or somatic movement. You don't need to be flexible. And you certainly don't need to arrive knowing how to rest.

You just need to be willing to get curious, listen inwards and see what the season might reveal.

January isn’t the time to become a better version of yourself.

It's about becoming a little more curious about who you already are.

About questioning the pressure to keep going.

To keep growing.

To keep becoming something more.

About discovering what happens when you stop trying so hard.

Winter doesn't ask the trees to produce.

It doesn't measure the seeds by how quickly they grow.

It knows that rest is part of being alive.

(And it doesn’t need to be earnt).

A LITTLE REBELLION

There is something quietly radical about moving with the seasons.

Because we're constantly being told that more is better.

More productivity.
More achievement.
More growth.
More optimisation.

But nature doesn't work like that.

There are seasons of expansion.
Seasons of abundance.
Seasons of release.
Seasons of rest.

Nothing in nature moves in a straight line.

She Moves with the Seasons is an invitation to practise another way.

A small, embodied fuck you to the myth of endless growth and linear lives.
